This 2 hour online course is aimed at those who may recreate around rivers such as swimmers, anglers and hikers. A digital certificate is issued upon completion of the course and quiz. This course is not suitable for those working around floodwater or emergency services.
Learning objectives: This course covers river features, hazard identification, river crossing planning and decision making, environmental care considerations, wader safety, swiftwater swimming, shallow water crossing, use of throw-bags, and medical considerations. This online course is also aligned to exceed the theoretical elements of NZQA unit standard 427 demonstrate crossing rivers.
