Calls for International Sponsorship applications

If you are an organisation outside of New Zealand and Australia, PSI is now seeking registrations of interest to help an under-resourced organisation to develop their country’s flood rescue capacity.

The sponsorship can help government and non-government organisations to build new flood rescue capacity in their country.

Generally, Public Safety Institute under this scheme provides a single sponsored course through it’s instructors providing pro-bono (volunteer) training.

  • Significantly reduced tuition fees
  • Minimum of two ITRA qualified instructors from PSI
  • International airfares and insurance for PSI instructors
  • 4-6 days of training in-country
  • ITRA Record of Learning (transcript)
  • ITRA Attendance Certificate

The host organisation should provide:

  • Classroom with data projector
  • Suitable river/water sites with appropriate permits/permissions
  • Basic PPE for students (helmets, PFDs etc) and some specified equipment (boat, fence post, ropes etc)
  • Suitable accommodation, meals and transport in-country

A minimum fee of USD$75 per student is also required to ensure the organisation is serious about partnering as part of this scholarship.
